American soccer player Paxten Aaronson moves to Vitesse on loan from Frankfurt
20-year-old Paxten Aaronson, a United States international, has completed a loan move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Eredivisie side Vitesse until the end of the season. The move provides Aaronson with a chance to gain valuable experience and playing time, as he has struggled to secure regular minutes at Frankfurt this season. Vitesse’s technical director, Benjamin Schmedes, spoke highly of Aaronson’s versatility and potential value to the team, and expressed excitement about the opportunity to work with the young talent. Aaronson himself expressed his enthusiasm about joining Vitesse and pledged to contribute to the team’s fight for success. The loan move presents an opportunity for Aaronson to continue to develop as a player and make an impact with Vitesse, as they aim to improve their position in the Eredivisie.
United States international Paxten Aaronson has successfully completed a loan transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt to Eredivisie team Vitesse until the end of the season, as announced by the Netherlands club on Thursday. Aaronson, 20, made the move to the Bundesliga side in January 2022 from Philadelphia Union for a fee of approximately €4 million ($4.3m). He has made seven appearances for Frankfurt this season in the Bundesliga and a total of 14 across all competitions.
Vitesse’s technical director Benjamin Schmedes expressed confidence in Aaronson’s versatility and potential value to the club, citing his experience as a youth international for the United States. Aaronson will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Vitesse, aiming to contribute positively to the team’s performance.
Despite facing limited game time at Frankfurt this season, Aaronson is eager to make an impact at Vitesse, stating, “I hope to make the necessary minutes to be so important to the team. The club, the city, the people: it feels good to be here! We are going to fight together for Vitesse.”
Vitesse, currently at the bottom of the Eredivisie, welcomes Aaronson’s addition to their attacking options and he is expected to join their squad for the upcoming match against Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.
