Tottenham anxiously awaiting updates on Cristian Romero and Richarlison injuries ahead of Brighton match

Tottenham Hotspur is facing some fitness concerns ahead of their upcoming Premier League matchup with Brighton. Both Cristian Romero and Richarlison suffered injuries during their recent victory over Everton, but the prognosis looks better for Richarlison, who continued to play after experiencing a back issue.

Manager Ange Postecoglou stated that Romero felt tiredness in his hamstring just before half-time and had to be taken off. Richarlison also had a sore back during training but was keen to start the game. Despite scoring and playing well, it was expected that he would need to be substituted at some point.

Spurs will assess the two players on Sunday, with the hope that Richarlison will be fit to play in their next game, especially with top scorer Son Heung-min set to go on international duty in January. Son himself struggled with an injury last season and has been impressed by Richarlison’s form after undergoing a similar procedure.

Tottenham captain Son also praised Richarlison’s recent performances, expressing his belief that the Brazilian forward has the potential to be one of the greatest strikers in the Premier League.

In their win over Everton, Tottenham faced a tough challenge as the visitors created several scoring chances. Everton had a goal disallowed after VAR review, with defender Jarrad Branthwaite expressing disappointment at the decision.

Tottenham will be looking to continue their form in the top four as they face Brighton in their upcoming Premier League clash.
