Europa League knockout stages: Liverpool, Brighton and West Ham all secure spots

Liverpool secured their spot in the Europa League knockout stages with a dominant 4-0 win over LASK. Jurgen Klopp’s team finished at the top of Group E after early goals from Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, as well as a penalty from Mohamed Salah and an additional goal from Gakpo in stoppage time. Brighton and West Ham also confirmed their places in the next round, but the battle for top spot in their groups will be decided in the final games. Brighton’s Joao Pedro scored a penalty to earn them a 1-0 win over AEK Athens, while West Ham’s Tomas Soucek struck a late goal to secure a 1-0 win over Backa Topola. Other teams, such as Rangers and Roma, still have work to do in the final fixture in order to secure their progress to the knockout stages. Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, and Villarreal also wrapped up top spots in their respective groups with notable victories.
