Jurgen Klopp provides conflicting update on Alisson and Diogo Jota’s injuries
Liverpool will be without Alisson for at least two weeks due to a hamstring injury, but the damage isn’t as bad as initially thought. He could return for the Manchester United match on December 17th. Until then, back-up Caoimhin Kelleher will take up the Premier League duty.
Diogo Jota’s injury is more severe, and he will be out for an unknown amount of time after being forced off at the Etihad. Liverpool has several matches lined up in the Premier League and Europa League before concluding their Europa League group on December 14th.
Kelleher, the Republic of Ireland international, is set to start in the Europa League group games and potentially three Premier League games in a row. Manager Klopp is confident in Kelleher’s abilities and sees this as an opportunity for him to shine.
Although it’s disappointing to have key players injured, Klopp is positive about Kelleher’s potential and believes he deserves the chance to prove himself in the upcoming games.
