Arsenal can look to Kai Havertz as perfect ‘example’ in title race, suggests pundits
Mikel Arteta exhorted Kai Havertz to “embrace the beautiful moment” after his game-winning goal against Brentford put Arsenal at the top of the Premier League. However, it is uncertain whether he can address the club’s scoring difficulties.
When the final whistle blew, Arteta guided Havertz across the field to receive praise from the traveling fans after his late goal. This moment brought hope, but similar hopes were raised after his previous goal against Bournemouth without lasting impact. This season has not been straightforward for the 24-year-old.
Havertz joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £65m in the summer, but has not yet found his role in the team and has been inconsistent in his performance and position. His goal against Brentford lifted Arsenal to the top of the league, but he still faces uncertainty in his place in the team.
Arteta praised Havertz’s versatility, saying: “First of all, it speaks to his quality, because a player that can play in different positions needs a lot of qualities to do that. Then, the fact that he puts his head down and drives the team. He does that in any position I ask him, it’s the same. But he’s not the only one.” Havertz’s role and position in the team are far from certain despite his game-winning goal.
