Amer Hussein: Alexandria Stadium could solve the crisis of the national team’s
Amer Hussein, a member of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that the file of allowing fans to return to Egypt’s national team matches in large numbers is very important and solutions must be found for it.
Hussein said in statements on “On Time Sports 1” channel: “There were about 15,000 fans at Cairo Stadium during the match between Egypt and Djibouti, and if this number was present in a stadium like Alexandria, the stadium would have appeared full.”

He added, “It is difficult for 15,000 spectators to appear in a stadium the size of Cairo Stadium, and during the era of Mahmoud El-Gohary, the former coach of the Egyptian national team, some matches were held in Alexandria.”
He continued, “This matter needs to be studied, and the first to implement this idea was Mahmoud El-Gohary. There must be coordination between the company organizing the entry of fans, the Football Association, security, and a way to enter people to lead the support.”

“We do not want to take a step back, we have important matches ahead of us and we have a strong chance of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, and the fans are returning to support the Egyptian national team once again,” he said.
“We have a chance and enough time to find a solution to this issue with the national teams,” he added.
He then talked about the decision of Egypt’s national team coach, Roy Vitoria, to exclude Hussein El-Shahat, Imam Ashour, and Tarek Hamed from the next match against Sierra Leone.
He explained, “Vitoria felt that the trio who were excluded were not committed, so he made the appropriate decision from his point of view, and the matter ended there.”

“Any kind of non-compliance will not go unnoticed with coach Vitoria, and calling up the players after that is his decision and he is the one responsible for it,” he concluded.
