The Al-Hilal offer was crazy… every time I refused, they increased the amount of money offered.

Napoli player Victor Osimhen has spoken about the huge offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal to sign him last summer.

Osimhen said in a statement on The Obi and Wan Podcast, “To be honest, I never thought about leaving last summer, because Napoli wanted me to stay.”

“The Saudi offer was extremely huge and difficult to refuse. Every time I said no, they increased the financial offer repeatedly, and they never gave up. The offer would have changed my life, but I said no, I am staying here.”

The Nigerian international also talked about the English Premier League, saying, “I don’t have a favorite team in the English league, I just have jerseys from Chelsea and Manchester United. Many of my friends are Chelsea fans, and a few are Manchester fans.”

He continued, “The Premier League is the most esteemed for any African player. It is a huge league.”

In response, Obi Mikel during the interview with Osimhen said, “I know you will come to Chelsea next season, and I will be the mediator in this deal. We have been crying for someone like you since Drogba left.”

Osimhen received a huge offer from Al-Hilal in the last summer transfer window, but reports revealed that Napoli requested 500 million euros to agree to sell the player, halting the deal.

Osimhen has scored 6 goals and provided 1 assist for Napoli this season in all competitions.

The Nigerian international has played 111 games for Napoli so far, contributing 65 goals and 15 assists.
