Report: Real Madrid preparing to announce Militao’s contract renewal.
Real Madrid continues to renew the contracts of its stars to protect them from the ambitions of European and Saudi clubs. This time, it’s Eder Militao, the team’s defender, who is in line for a contract renewal.
Over the past two weeks, Real Madrid has announced contract renewals for Vinicius Junior, Rodrigo, Fede Valverde, and Eduardo Camavinga, with a release clause of one billion euros in each contract.
According to the Spanish network “Onda Cero,” Real Madrid has decided to renew Militao’s contract, and the announcement will be made either tomorrow (Tuesday) or the day after (Wednesday) at the latest.
Militao joined Real Madrid in 2019 from Porto, and his current contract ends in June 2025.
Real Madrid’s decision to renew Militao’s contract comes despite the Brazilian defender being sidelined due to a cruciate ligament injury since the first match of the current season.
Reports at the time of the injury suggested that the player may not participate in the current season, but the recovery process is progressing better than expected, so the defender may return in the early months of 2024.
