Original title in Arabic: صبري رحيل: عبدالعال قال لنا إننا أهدرنا الفوز على الأهلي Translation: Sabri Rahil: Abdel-Aal told us that we wasted the victory against Al-Ahly Rephrased title in English: Sabri Rahil: Abdel-Aal lamented that we missed out on a win against Al-Ahly.
Sobhi Rahil, the right-back of El Gouna, revealed the reaction of Alaa Abdel-Aal, the team’s coach, after the draw with Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League.
El Gouna secured a draw against their guest Al Ahly (1-1) in a postponed match from the fourth round of the competition, which was held last Saturday evening.
Rahil said in statements to the first Egyptian channel, “Alaa Abdel-Aal told us after the match that we wasted the opportunity to win against Al Ahly.”
“The Gouna has been performing well throughout the previous period, not just in the match against Al Ahly,” he added.
The former Al Ahly defender continued, “We went through difficult moments in the match, especially after the goal and in the last ten minutes. We have young players with little experience, but I expect them to have a big impact in the future.”
Regarding his age progression, the 36-year-old said, “Football acknowledges effort, not age. There are players who have aged and still perform well, and I give my all.”
When asked about the performance of Karim El Deeb, the left-back of Al Ahly, he commented by saying, “He is a great player and will perform well with time. He just needs patience. He cannot be compared to Ali Maaloul due to the difference in their experiences.”
