Infantino praises the first edition of the African League, contributing to sustainable development

Gianni Infantino, the president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), praised the inaugural edition of the African League Championship.
Infantino said on his official Instagram account: “The new African football championship has been a fantastic spectacle, with the first leg of the final not different from the other great matches of the tournament.”
He added: “I would also like to thank the organizers of the African Football Confederation and the organizers of the African League Championship for organizing this wonderful competition, which will contribute to sustainable development and financial inclusion across the African continent.”
Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca defeated South Africa’s Sundowns 2-1 in the first leg of the final, which took place yesterday in Morocco, while the second leg will be held next Sunday in Pretoria.
